City Of Minneapolis Interpretive Signage
I had the joy of creating 15 Illustrations highlighting the wonderful efforts the city is making to ensure our beloved Mississippi River stays clean and healthy. Each sign is specific to the site and explains through story how that site is cleaning rain water runoff before it travels to the river. The goal is to inform, and then spark curiosity, as each sign points to another interconnected part of the water system in Minneapolis. This was a collaboration between the City of Minneapolis, HDR Inc and myself. The City was very open to allowing me to really make this project something “out of the box.” We all agreed that we wanted to tell a story, and create something that neighbors would enjoy looking at, rather than staying within the typical mold of heavy information and diagrams. The signs will be able to be found in neighborhoods across the city beginning in 2020.
